I love Luther
One of the best shows on TV
Not sure if you have seen the movie on Netflix?
You should as it’s brilliant
….Don’t worry. No spoilers incoming ha ha
Anyway
The reason I email is there are lots of lessons to be learned from Luther
He has the best intentions but things don’t always go his way
Same could be said for a lot of us, right?
Whether it’s things out-with your control
Or things you can control but cannot quite get to grips with
It’s easy to let other stuff get the better of you
Especially where it comes to your physical and mental health
I get that
Covid was a huge hurdle to get over mentally but you couldn’t NOT face it or we would have failed
Having young kids and a busy business is always tough to ‘balance’ out time wise
I haven’t prioritised my health and felt the effects because I was ‘too busy’ and other things were more important (<<< BS right there)
Many days I wake and struggle with motivation/anxious thoughts
Don’t get me wrong
I enjoy my life and what we have created but it doesn’t come without struggle
That’s the thing
Like Luther
It’s not WHAT happens
It’s HOW you deal with it and move past it
In the series/film he has lots of setbacks but NOTHING deviates him away from the end goal
Success and goals are never linear
No matter what you see on social media it’s never easy or as good as it looks
People will only show what you want to see, and you compare against that
Every day you must deal with the short term and react to things the right way
And NEVER lose sight of longer term goal/big picture for yourself
Lets look at weight loss and health
I think if everyone based working out and exercise/eating well on motivation or how you feel
99.9% of the world would be out of shape and unhappy with how they look/feel
And rarely does it come down to ‘what you know’ as most people know what they need to do
…so what’s the gap?
In my opinion
Dealing with setback/failure/your thoughts
Learn to do that ^^^
And although the journey (like Luther’s) will always be rocky
You WILL get to where you want to be
You just need to stop stopping
Hope that helps set you up for the day
Dan
